There were days when smokers were lighting up in airplanes and nurses were smoking in hospitals. For the most part, these were innocent actions and people had no concept of the harm smoking caused. Stories of the sixties and seventies are unimaginable to us today and it’s unbelievable that many people that worked in the health industry were smokers themselves.

Yet others might attest that they simply did it cold turkey and that was their easy way to stop smoking. Some people are more creative however and come up with their own unique easy way to stop smoking. Some ways are even quite funny. One woman said the only easy way to stop smoking she could think of and to make the whole tribulation more painless was to replace smoking with something she found equally as relaxing as having a cigarette. Her most difficult time was after a meal. She gave some thought to the fact that the only time she DIDN’T crave a cigarette was when she was in the bath. She also wanted to reward herself for her accomplishments. She really liked martinis, so every evening after her supper, which she found to be the most difficult time to conquer the craving, she would quickly make her reward martini and jump in a hot bath with her martini until the craving was gone. It worked for her. Perhaps, if there is such a thing as an easy way to stop smoking, it is very individual and must be discovered by your own trial and error.
