Stop Smoking Now and Renew Your Appetite for Life
Stop Smoking Now: To be a smoker is to be a slave to a nicotine addiction. It also means risking your health and perhaps shortening your life span. It is no wonder that millions of people have quit successfully and many more millions are trying to stop smoking now. It just isn’t the same as when people could say that they weren’t aware of the risks involved with cigarette smoking. Many people try half-heartedly to stop smoking now and quickly decide to smoke one more day and quit tomorrow. While others say enough is enough and spontaneously say, “I will stop smoking now” and just do it.
Just Do It; Stop Smoking Now: How is it that some people can stop smoking now, just like that, cold turkey, while others have to plan a long method of withdrawal? Basically we are all different. Our different characteristics enable us to see things differently and do things differently. Some people are indeed able to wake up one morning and simply say to themselves, “I have smoked long enough, I will stop smoking now.” Some people will put their mind to it and only need infrequent reminders about why they want to stop smoking now. They will sometimes jot down their reasons and re-read them several times a day. The reason that this technique will work for them is that they remain focused on the present. They have decided to stop smoking now and they are only concerned with the here and now. Tomorrow is another day and they will deal with that day when they get there. But today they have decided they will not continue to smoke and they will just stop smoking now. The here and now is the key to this method. One must stop thinking about the past and having regrets about having become a smoker in the first place because these are stressful thoughts which will make the person want to have a cigarette because they are engaging in defeatist thoughts. One must also not only think of the future but rather remain in the present focusing only on one day at a time. One day at a time is more manageable than making a decision about a lifetime.
Why Should I Stop Smoking Now? There are immediate rewards when one instantly stops smoking. First, your health begins to improve almost immediately. You’ll automatically become a better role model to your children. You increase the chances of living longer without disease. Something that smokers don’t realize until they quit is that they will begin to take pleasure in things they weren’t aware of as a smoker. If you stop smoking now, all your senses will improve. The sense of smell and of taste will return. You will begin to smell wonderful aromas coming from kitchens, smells that will whet your appetite for life. Then you will actually be able to taste the food in a way that you were not able to while you were a smoker. Stop smoking now means pleasure may be taken while enjoying a tasty cup of coffee full of aroma or even engaging in a long kiss without smoke breath. Your clothes and hair will smell fresh and clean. Most importantly the person who stops smoking now will feel great on their way to better health.
